There are several ways to help our cause. Fostering animals (in Aruba), volunteering with us, donating money or supplies and/or transporting carriers or our rescues to their forever homes.

Please join in, so we can save more animals!

Transport our rescues

Getting our rescues to their new homes can be quite challenging. We are always in need of people traveling from Aruba who are willing to take one or more of our rescues on their flight(s) to their new families in the USA, Canada, or the Netherlands.

Are you traveling to the USA, Canada, or the Netherlands from Aruba? Please fill in our Flight volunteer form, as we might need your help!

We will arrange everything to make this experience as smooth as possible. We will meet you at the airport with the animal in the carrier/crate, the necessary paperwork, supplies, stand in line with you and help with check-in, and also pay any fees associated with transporting the animal. We will also connect you with the adoptive family who will be waiting for you at baggage claim after arrival. There are no costs involved for you, and we take care of everything you need. Please checkout out the “In Cabin/Checked Pet Procedures” below for more info.

Puppies (under 20 lbs), kittens, and cats can travel in cabin (as carry on luggage) on all airlines flying from Aruba *except* for Southwest Airlines and Spirit. You are still allowed to bring your personal carry on luggage as well.

There are currently no American or Canadian airlines who take checked pets (in kennels) from Aruba. This means dogs above 20lbs cannot fly with transporters to the USA.

To the Netherlands, both KLM and Tui allow checked pets on their flights to Amsterdam.  KLM also allows small cats and dogs up to 8kg in carriers in cabin.

We promise you that transporting is a very rewarding experience and one of the most valuable ways to make a difference in the life of one of our rescue animals!

Visit

Visiting is possible *with appointment only* on weekdays at 09.45 am except for Wednesday morning.  Please wear flipflops for sanitizing purposes.  Keep in mind that to limit cross contamination it is not possible to randomly touch the animals. Please listen to our volunteers and follow their advise to keep them healthy.

*Should you want to bring something for the animals that is very welcome!* Canned food for dogs and cats (any brand) and clumping cat litter we always need. Kitten, cat, puppy or dog food is very welcome too. On average we have about 200 “mouths” to feed. Monetary donations, cleaning products or supplies brought from your country are of course highly appreciated as well.

Please dm on instagram or email *info@sgtpeppersfriends.com*  to set up a visit!

If you really want to do more and volunteer for a morning that is possible too.  Checkout the section *“Volunteer”* below.

Volunteer

Volunteering for Sgt. Pepper’s Friends is possible and much needed! We really can use all the support we can get. We have both local volunteers and international volunteers. As an international volunteer you can come help out with one or more morning duties from 08.30 – 11.00 am. Please dm on instagram or email info@sgtpeppersfriends.com to set it up.

In general for local volunteers: we could use your help with many things, among others: taking care of our animals by doing a breakfast or dinner duty, rescuing animals, taking rescues to the vet, visiting foster families and providing supplies, foster rescues (if accommodation allows), see our rescues off at the airport, etc.

We promise it will be worth it. Rescuing animals is one of the most rewarding things there is!

Foster

We are currently rescuing mainly from Aruba and we are always in need of families in Aruba who are willing to foster.

A foster home is a short-term safe place for a rescued dog or cat. By fostering you are giving the animal a wonderful quality of life and preparing him/her for a new home.

You make sure the animal is loved, taken care of, socialized, goes to the veterinarian, etc. We pay for the food, the veterinarian, and provide toys, food bowls and other necessary supplies.

Puppies and kittens are preferably fostered with their siblings (two, three or more). This is better for their socialization and is less stressful.

We do not mix litters at one fosterfamily, since the risk of spreading diseases (like parvo) is too great.

Fostering is not much different than taking care of your own pets. Saying goodbye is the hardest part of the process, but you’re contributing to saving a life and getting pictures and updates from their new families is the best reward there is.

Please fill in our application if you’re interested in fostering for us!

Organize an event

Organizing an event (yoga class, charity walk, fundraiser) and gathering supplies or donations is also an excellent way to help Sgt. Pepper’s Friends. Rescuing animals is very costly and we are always in need of supplies. Reach out to us with your ideas and together we can change the world for a lot of animals!
